Verify a SAGE Language Services Editing Certificate
If you are a representative from a journal or a publisher who received a certificate from an author as part of a submission, click here to verify the certificate code.
What is the SAGE Language Services Editing Certificate program?
SAGE Language Services will provide a certificate confirming that your paper was edited by a native English speaker at SAGE Language Services and, assuming all of the changes we proposed are incorporated into the manuscript, is ready for journal submission. The certificate will allow journal editors to feel confident that the English language in your paper has been reviewed and verified.
What will this certificate do for me?
This certificate informs all journals that your manuscript’s use of the English language is up to the required standards. This implies that your paper will already be one step closer to peer review and, ultimately, publication.
When submitting your manuscript to a journal, include this certificate as proof that the language in your paper is ready for publication. If you accept all of our editors’ changes and your paper is later rejected by your journal for English language errors, we promise to re-edit your document for free.
NOTE: SAGE Language Services obviously cannot take responsibility for any part of your manuscript we did not edit; any changes you make to your manuscript after receiving the final version from SAGE Language Services are not covered by the certificate. Therefore, the certificate will have a verification code and website link for the journal editors to verify that the certificate is unique and is being used for the document SAGE Language Services edited. Journal editors (and anyone to whom you provide this certificate verification code) will be able to download the version of the manuscript that SAGE Language Services returned to you.
Do I need to request a certificate or do anything special to have my document evaluated for the certificate?
When you make your submission and are on the payment page, you will be asked for the title of your paper and the authors’ names to be included on the certificate. This free evaluation of your paper for certificate eligibility will be a part of the high-quality language editing service that SAGE Language Services provides.
What does the certificate look like?
How do I use this certificate?
Simply submit this certificate as one of your documents in the journal submission process.
What if I did not receive a certificate?
If you did not receive a certificate, don’t be discouraged. It simply means that your document needs additional revisions. Read through the tracked changes and editors’ comments and make any necessary changes. If you would like SAGE Language Services to edit your manuscript again after your revisions, you will need to create a new submission.
How will I know if I received a certificate?
If your submission received a certificate, you will be able to download your certificate directly from your SAGE Language Services account. It will be available on the ‘View submissions’ page, along with your edited document and invoice.
